2008 Schedule Announced

The organization: The objectives of the Santa Cruz Breakers organization is to provide committed and talented Santa Cruz County soccer players with an opportunity to play at the highest level while competing in a national league. In addition, through this league, the organization aims to create safe, affordable and enjoyable soccer entertainment for families and players in our community.

The Team: The Santa Cruz Breakers has joined the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL). The Breakers will be combining local Santa Cruz County talent with players recruited from out of the area. The strong youth system currently in place will serve as a feeder system for the NPSL Breakers. Additional talent will come from local college players.

The League: The Breakers are members of the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL). The NPSL has expanded to the Midwest and has become a full-fledged national league with an Eastern Division.

The Stadiums: The Breakers play most home games at Carl Connelly Stadium on the Cabrillo College campus in beautiful Aptos. The facility includes a new synthetic grass soccer pitch which is 120 by 66 yards with a seating capacity of 3,000. The stadium also offers lights, concessions, a press box and a public announcement system. Spectators will watch the action at very close range and will be right on top of the playing field. The Breakers will also play a few games at the newly installed synthetic grass field in the Watsonville High School Stadium. This field measures 110 by 70 yards.

Breakers Youth Teams: The Breakers Youth Soccer Club is well organized and has been committed to youth player development since its inception. The club has gained local, regional, national and international recognition at the youth soccer level in the California Youth Soccer Association of the USYSA, US Club Soccer and the Super Y League. Today, the club has 25 elite boys and girls teams from U10 to U20 that compete at the highest level of soccer in the United States. The Santa Cruz Breakers maintains a foundational principle, borrowed from the Positive Coaching Alliance, "Put the Player First!”. By putting the player first, envisioning the entire player, mind and body, we will continue to develop great people and, in turn, great players.
